Twilight:2000

This part of the site is dedicated to the game. It gives a bit of game background to the Book, main character details. It's pretty much still under construction at the moment so keep checking back. If there's anything your looking for from this site and can't find drop me a line at cadillacofthesky@ntlworld.com and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks, Al.

Red Fox Two

Red Fox Two is the Long Range Recon outfit central in the book Black Winter. They were one of four units operated by Colonel Jones for the principle purpose of intelligence gathering outside Hamburg and BAEUR's (British Army of Europe) influence.

As any RPG Games Monster of any long term game knows, players have an uncompromising knack of generating the most bazaar and wide ranging characters which need to be integrated into the game story. In most other games this can be problematic but not too difficult. However, Twilight:2000 was a military based game with rigid command and organisational structure. So integrating characters as divers as an RAF chopper pilot, a US Army deserter and a former Israeli Intelligence Officer without defaulting too far into the realms of fantasy was challenging. The answer lied in Colonel Jones, a common figure in the majority of the character's background.

The game started back in 1985 with the scenario based on 'Escape from Kalisz'. With the unit being predominately British, the scenario was relocated to Northern sector and retitled 'Breakout from Malbork'. Before the main game started, I began with a few one on one sessions with the principle characters that resulted in them being in the wrong place at the wrong time; Malbork, 16:30 hours, 16th July 2000, the beginning of the game.

Character Details

These were the main player characters involved in the campaign at the time Black Winter story. By beginning of 2001 RF-2 had been reduced down to seven men after loosing two chasing the ghost of a SS-22 into the Free Town of Regenburg. This is the unit as it stood at the beginning of the book, 7th January 2001.

There are some of the major Non-player Characters. Some, such as Campbell, were former player characters who's gamer had left. Others, Jones and Straczynski, were always NPCs.

Small print and other official stuff

Firstly: Some of the character history are not as they were during my T2K campaign game. These modifications have been made so that the character fits in with the novel Black Winter. However, this has not altered the basic characteristics and motivations of the character as I, the GM, saw them being played.
